Welcome to House League

Welcome to the 2026 GYL House League Season

March 9, 2026

Welcome to House League

Dear GYL House League Families,

We are so excited about hitting the fields for the 2026 House League season later this week! We loved seeing all the kids at Jersey Day and their excitement for the great year ahead.

Growth continues at GYL, with over 850 participants and more than 180 volunteer coaches in House League alone. These dedicated coaches, along with local high school players and many special guests, will be on the fields this spring working with your children. We are thrilled to welcome back our amazing master coaches:

  • Girls K-4: Shawn Cavanaugh
  • Boys K-2: Keith Radcliffe
  • Boys 3-4: Eugene Miller

House League is the building block of our program, and we are proud of our history and long-standing commitment to youth sports in our community. We are consistently one of the largest programs in the country and the largest in Connecticut. Each season, we strive to create a fun and safe environment focused on skill development. We are thrilled you are part of the family! See below for more information about GYL, and look out for more updates soon.

Field Assignments

The field situation at Greenwich High School is challenging given our registration numbers. By Wednesday each week we will publish field assignments for each group for Friday Night Clinic and Sunday House League. We don't anticipate a lot of changes, but we have learned, change is inevitable. Outside of the weather, we could have rescheduled lacrosse, rugby, and softball games that may affect our program. See link below for our Week #1 schedule.

What team is my child on?

If you haven't received one yet, you will soon get a team email from one of your child's coaches. As a reminder, we cannot take friend requests and will not change team configurations. For the first few weeks we run GYL clinic style, so a jersey is not absolutely necessary.

Where can my child get their jersey?

You can pick up the jersey at any session from your coach. If you don't know what team you are on, please see one of us or the master coaches and we will direct you. If you need a larger or smaller size, please see one of us and we can help you make an exchange.

I'm confused, when is my child's session and what field are they on?

We are typically on the turf fields at Greenwich High School. Every player has Friday Night Clinic from 6:00 to 7:00. On Sundays the schedule is as follows:

  • Kindergarten & 1st - 1:00 to 2:00
  • 2nd Grade - 2:00 to 3:00
  • 3rd & 4th Grade - 3:00 to 4:00

We plan to update the website and send out an e-mail each Wednesday with that week's schedule. We have no control over the fields, so please expect occasional changes from week to week. The schedule can always be found at the following link: House League Logistics. Changes will be reflected here and we will always try to get an e-mail out.

GYL Team Store

We have partnered again with Too Sparrows to bring you a great line of GYL branded products. Check it out and show your team spirit!!

Proper Equipment / New Mandatory Shoulder Pads

Please be sure your child is equipped with the proper equipment for the season. GYL's Required Equipment Page is a valuable resource.

  • Your son needs shoulder pads designed for lacrosse that includes a chest protector that meets NOCSAE standard ND200
  • Your daughter's goggles need to meet the current ASTM standards.
More than one person need to get these e-mails?

The easiest way to ensure these system generated e-mails get to everyone in your household is to follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to https://my.sportngin.com/user - you will be prompted to log in if you are not already logged in
  2. From the menu, click Registrations
  3. Click on the Registration titled "Spring 2026 GYL Lacrosse Player Registration"
  4. Look for the "Household Information" section on the resulting page and click the pencil (edit) icon to the right.
  5. Scroll toward the bottom of the page and you can enter/update Second Guardian information.
  6. Click "Save Registration Entry"
We need more volunteers!

Are you interested in coaching House League this season? We welcome new coaches at any grade level! While we have many former collegiate players in our coaching ranks, we are really looking for enthusiastic, positive, and organized individuals to help keep the kids engaged. More coaches mean more reps! Our Master Coaches prepare all practice planners, so no significant lacrosse experience is necessary. All teams have multiple coaches with different levels of experience. Let us know if you'd like to join the fun!
