2026 AGE SEGMENTATION
In 2026 the CONNY Age Segmentation Policy will remain in affect for our Travel Teams.
CONNY Age Segmentation Policy: In order to keep as many players as possible with their grade classmates, without compromising safety by encouraging too wide age spreads, the CONNY Executive Committee in 2019 moved the oldest birthday permitted for each year group from the September 1st to the July 1st preceding the season (except 14U Seniors for which the birthday eligibility date remains the March 1st preceding the season to accommodate very old-in-grade 8th graders who would not otherwise have a place to play in the spring). Thus, the player segmentation birthday cutoff dates are represented below:

GYL House League
GYL's House League program is a grade-based program.
K though 2nd grade players will be grade-based, regardless of age.
3rd and 4th grade players not playing Intro to Travel will stay in their grade, regardless of age.
GYL Intro to Travel
If your child is eligible for Intro to Travel in 3rd or 4th grade (Lightning), you can elect to play up if you qualify according to Age Segmentation.
This will be a permanent move and your child will play up for the remainder of their time at GYL. There are no exceptions.
