We will send out blast emails about this and also keep the website - greenwichyouthlacrosse.org - updated.  His program is geared toward the Greenwich player that wants additional lacrosse work in the "off season". If you are interested, please contact Coach Bulkley directly, per his note below. Look for exciting information about 2011 summer league play in the next few days.

CONNY Offers Boys and Girls Coaches Training
by Lisa Hurst posted 08/10/2010

CONNY is pleased to bring US Lacrosse Coaches training - both Level 1 and Level 2 for boys and girls coaches - to our membership this year.

US Lacrosse has designed coaches training clinics so that we as coaches may benefit from learning the most current techniques in teaching and coaching the sport.

Give your players the extra edge, hone your coaching skills, and be part of the only national standardized lacrosse coaching program designed to give you the tools to enhance your coaching at every level.

Created with input and assistance from many of the nation's finest coaches, this one-of-a-kind program is designed to increase your knowledge of the game while also teaching you the fine art of COACHING.

With the explosive growth of the sport of lacrosse around the country, the need for knowledgeable, experienced coaches is greater than ever before. US Lacrosse is committed to providing opportunities to develop these important leaders, through online offerings, clinics and comprehensive certification.

"Coaching is teaching and coaches need training in this area to be effective."

- Sue Stahl, coach of the four-time World Cup champion Team USA

It is a CONNY goal that all coaches in CONNY complete the Level 1 training.  If you have already completed Level 1 and are coaching at a higher level, we strongly encourage you to participate in Level 2 training.  You must complete a Level 1 course and training card be before qualifying to sign up for Level 2.

  • Level 1 is set for October 16 in New Canaan.
  • Level 2 is set for February 5 in Wilton.

All clinics are for both boys and girls coaches and will break out into respective groups during the training.

The sessions are approximately 6 hours with a break for lunch which is included in your registration fee.

You must also be a US Lacrosse member prior to signing up.  There are simple steps to go about joining US Lacrosse and obtaining a member ID instantly.

We have an exclusive window for CONNY members to sign up at a $20 discount.

The links below will lead you to registration page exclusively for CONNY members.

PLEASE sign up for these clinics by August 18 to receive the CONNY discount.

Program administrators, we hope you will take advantage of the Level 1 clinic to recruit and train new coaches.  There is no prior experience with lacrosse required.  This is a terrific opportunity to get parents involved and trained as coaches.

Please work with your coaches to take advantage of the $20 discount for CONNY members and sign up by August 18.

After August 18, these clinics will be offered nationally to any US Lacrosse member, and the registration will be located on the US Lacrosse Website.

Many thanks for your enthusiasm, leadership and commitment to training.
